At first glance, these snowglobes by Walter Martin and Paloma Muñoz are lovely little winterscapes. Then things start to go downhill. Really fast. Each snowglobe silently spins a strange little story ranging from playful to slightly eerie to downright grotesque. Weird? An understatement. But there’s something incredibly captivating about these creepy scenes frozen in time, against a beautiful backdrop of falling snow, that makes it hard to look away.

We are slated for another snow storm today – and just when I thought it was safe to wear flats again, boo! Hope I don’t meet any giant flesh-eating spiders on the street…
