I spotted this DIY tutorial for woven chain bracelets a few weeks ago and absolutely had to try it out. Verdict? Amazing! As in, why are you not making your own right now! It’s super simple, and the use of bobby pins to lace the thread through the links is nothing short of genius. I churned out this lovely trinket in less than 30 minutes from start to finish and was immediately bummed I didn’t have another to work on. Sad face.
The riff on old-school friendship bracelets is such a clever idea. I definitely re-lived some middle school memories while picking out embroidery floss colors :-) Who knows what other childhood fad will reemerge with a chic, adult spin on it? I, for one, am rooting for scrunchies.
Your version of the bracelet is great. I’m hoping to find some more chain bracelets at flea markets etc. so I can do another version of this DIY. I’m in love with my bracelet – I wear it all the time. Where did you get the chain for yours?
thanks becca! i found mine at the brooklyn flea for about $10: http://www.brooklynflea.com/

Nicely done! I don’t have a chain bracelet so it’s kind of hard to make this, but I’d love to try! Where did you get yours?

What a awesome project!! You did a great job creating your own! Love the idea and your colors. I have to make one soon!!
Adorable. I was huge into making bracelets as a kid, time to go back to my roots I think!
Love this! I can’t wait to go to a craft store, I’m dying to find something to do while mellowing out in the evening. This seems like a good break from scarf crocheting!
