Happy Friday! I’m looking forward to a weekend of just good ol’ fashioned bumming around. Isn’t it funny how it always feels as if you need a vacation after your vacation?
pretty pleats
Aaand we’re back from a week of family antics! I haven’t begun to tackle our vacation photos yet, so feast your eyes on these amazing origami critter necklaces by the aptly named Origami Jewelry in the meantime. I want each and every one!

Hubs and I have packed up our shorts and sunglasses, and are headed across the country to California for a family wedding! I’m a little sad Toby can’t come along, but he’s busy making lots of friends at a wonderful kennel nearby. The best part is that we can Skype with him while we’re away. No joke. This is why I love Brooklyn.
See you all back here in a week!

I love what spring brings – chirping birds, open windows, blooming flowers, and terribly itchy eyes. Oh wait, scratch that last one. I’ve never had any problems with seasonal allergies until a few years ago, when I transformed into a Claritin-popper overnight. In fact, my eyes are already getting that dreaded itchy feeling as I type this. Sigh. Eating local honey can supposedly help your body become accustomed to pollen and reduce allergy symptoms, so I’m going to try it this season! Hopefully making a beeline (haha) to the honey stand at the farmer’s market will cure what ails me.

Lauren Moffatt, queen of unbearably cute dresses like this one, just launched her first swimwear collection last week. Needless to say, she is now the queen of unbearably cute bathing suits as well.
PS. How do you like the site redesign? It’s a work in progress (as always), but I just couldn’t wait any longer to get this show on the road!

Happy Friday! Will you be indulging in green beer and corned beef this weekend? Hubs is half Irish, so a bottle of Jameson is sure to materialize in our home at some point. And since whiskey tastes like old leather boots to me, I’ll be whipping up a batch of this brown butter soda bread instead. Yum!
Procrastinators, don’t forget that the UncommonGoods giveaway ends today! You know you want this face mug to creep out your friends and facilitate cookie eating. I sure do.
