The fabulous classes at Gowanus Print Lab have been on my radar for quite some time now, but it wasn’t until a Groupon came along that Hubs and I decided to finally sign up for a screen printing workshop. The bonus is that it turned out to be a private class for us! Everyone else who registered was apparently vaporized from the scorching weather and never showed up…strange, but I’ll take the date night!

We sent in our artwork the day prior, so our screens were prepped and ready to go when we arrived. The instructor walked us through the creation process, and then everything after that was hands on fun – yesss! I’ve always wanted to learn the ins and outs of screen printing, so it was very cool to see how the final product came together like magic. At the end of the day, I went home with a slightly off-centered (oops) tee and tote bag, but I can’t help but love ’em :-) Recognize that silly whale from my sidebar?
