I’m totally in awe of these spectacular portraits of wild cockatoos taken by photographer Leila Jeffreys – it’s hard to believe these vibrant colors and patterns are a product of nature! This series took two whole years to complete due to the rare nature of some of these birds, all of which are native to Australia. Leila captures the beauty of these feathered creatures perfectly, along with a bit of their personality, I think! Doesn’t the one in the bottom left hand corner (Barnaby Rudge) seem like wise old soul?
these birds are beautiful. we had a cockatiel similar to the one on the bottom right, she was so beautiful and chirpy :)
Hahaha, yes Barnaby Rudge looks like an old wise soul. So cute.. Gorgeous photos of gorgeous birds!
Gloria! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog and design aesthetics. It is beautiful and so inspiring! Happy to be following! <33
Thank you so much, Victoria!
i totally agree, it does look like a wise old soul. What an amazing collection of portraits. I love them.
I’ve always been extremely afraid of birds (or anything with wings ha) but these really are beautiful! I like my birds in pictures just not in real life ;) Thanks for sharing these!
go for the glam
These colorful shots are the best!! So beautiful.
I am sooo not a fan of birds, but I can appreciate beauty when I see it. These colors are stunning, and it’s lovely to look at :)

i love the first one! he looks so alert and mischievous!
Gorgeous! The pink and grey ones are my favorite. We used to have a pet bird when I was a child… they make so much noise!
These images are so gorgeous–love that striking pink cockatoo!
The detail is amazing! I can totally picture their personalities. What a fun bunch (even that wise old soul)! ;)
Very beautiful images. I wonder how she was able to get them to hold still long enough to take their portraits!
I tried to pick a favorite, but it was impossible!
They are all so beautiful and all look like they would have fascinating personalities.
