I love walking down the street these days and hearing birds cheerfully chirping to each other in the tree tops. Music to my ears!
These whale-inspired goodies are making me smile this Monday morning!
Hope you like the new look around here :-) I had light and airy colors picked out, but I changed the color scheme on a whim to much darker tones, and it unexpectedly struck a chord with me (I blame winter). I’m also excited to announce that Little White Whale is now accepting sponsors, so let me know if you have a fun business/blog that you feel would be a good fit!

Well it turns out that painting an entire room takes way more time and effort than one would think, especially when somebody thought it would be a total cinch. We managed to get one whole wall painted, before putting down our brushes to pay a visit to the Museum of Natural History, take a few naps, have lunch at a beloved sandwich shop that’s closing this week, watch Kill Bill 1 and 2, read a new book, stroll around the neighborhood, and go to a friend’s apartment for dinner. So yeah, this whole painting thing is going to be a bit of a process with our attention span, but Rome wasn’t built in a day, people!
PS. Spending an afternoon with dinosaurs will always and forever be my favorite kind of museum trip.
I love what spring brings – chirping birds, open windows, blooming flowers, and terribly itchy eyes. Oh wait, scratch that last one. I’ve never had any problems with seasonal allergies until a few years ago, when I transformed into a Claritin-popper overnight. In fact, my eyes are already getting that dreaded itchy feeling as I type this. Sigh. Eating local honey can supposedly help your body become accustomed to pollen and reduce allergy symptoms, so I’m going to try it this season! Hopefully making a beeline (haha) to the honey stand at the farmer’s market will cure what ails me.
I pray that I’m not the only person over the age of 10 who still plays the Rabbit Rabbit game at the beginning of every month, but, seriously, who couldn’t use an extra bit of luck? Much to my excitement, I managed to time it right at the stroke of midnight last night (don’t judge me), so here’s hoping for some fun surprises this month!
One of my best friends has quit her job, packed up her apartment, and will be on a plane headed for Argentina today – talk about big changes in the new year! Luckily this isn’t a permanent move, but these next few months definitely won’t be the same without her or her infamous taco suit. We will miss you, Jilly, and we are so excited for you as you embark on this life changing adventure! To the bueno life!
I developed a love for hording all things pig related while planning our barn wedding, and as you can see, it’s a hard habit to break. I just can’t quit you, little oinkers!
Sending you all a sprinkling of unicorn magic to get you through this Monday morning!
