I’ve always really loved the look of a modern wooden watch, and after buying my husband one for his birthday a while back, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one for myself. Well as luck would have it, Jord made my search MUCH easier by offering me one of their beautiful watches to review! I chose the lovely “Ely” watch in Maple because of its simple design, and I couldn’t be happier with the new addition to my wardrobe.
First of all, this watch feels so incredibly light that sometimes I forget I even have it on because it’s so comfortable to wear! Thankfully there’s a scratch-resistant face to protect it as I clumsily flail my arms around all day :-) The unfussy neutral style also makes it easy to pair with just about any outfit you can think of aside from a sequined floor length gown. Flannel shirts? Yep. Cozy sweaters? You betcha. Cool tees? Absolutely! The watch seems to be well constructed, and I love how the the natural beauty of the wood is brought to the forefront in its design. All in all, this baby is a minimalist lover’s dream!
Even better? Jord watches are handcrafted with care from 100% sustainably sourced wood from across the globe, AND they refrain from using toxic chemicals to treat/protect the wood – how cool is that?? They offer watches for both men and women, so head on over to their site and make a dent in your holiday shopping list!
RedEnvelope has always been one of my go-to spots for present hunting around the holidays. It’s full of such a great mix of classic and fun gifts that it’s easy to find something for everyone. In fact, back when Hubs and I first started dating years ago, I bought him this monogrammed watch case, which they still sell! It backfired on me a little by fueling his watch obsession, but hey, at least the gift was a hit :-)
Naturally I was delighted when RedEnvelope offered to send me this gorgeous jewelry roll – perfect timing with all the holiday travelling ahead! The gold bird print is such a pretty touch, and it’s filled with lots of nooks and crannies for dainty rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. The only downside is that the profile is rather slim, so you’ll have to leave the chunky statement jewelry at home, but other than that, I’m in love! It’s certainly a step up from the Ziploc bag I usually fill up with baubles and schlep around with me when I hit the road (so shameful, I know)
Head on over to RedEnvelope to peruse more fabulous goodies! I’ve been eyeballing this “Love you to the moon and back” print, these adorable stuffed animal wall plaques, and these stacking gemstone rings.
In this day and age of Instagram and Facebook photos, there’s something quite special about holding a physical photograph in your hand! Some of my fondest memories of junior high and high school are of opening that little packet of snapshots after waiting impatiently for 1 hour developing and swapping them with all of my friends. Nowadays I still make an effort to have my favorite photos printed, but it can be SO hard to remember to do so with all our albums tucked away in closed drawer. Out of sight, out of mind!
Okay so technically caseable had a whole lot more to do with creating this iPhone cover than me, but I helped a little! They’re a Berlin & Brooklyn based company that creates handcrafted media cases from recycled materials (bonus!), so I was totally pumped when they offered me a chance to create a custom iPhone case of my very own. Who says no to that??
I made a simple pattern of colorful stripes in Photoshop and navigated my way through the caseable design interface, which was very straightforward to use. The entire process pretty much consisted of uploading my image, stretching it to fit over the phone template as I saw fit, and then…waiting impatiently for my case to arrive. That’s it!
The verdict? I really love that the stripes wrap all the way around the edges, instead of just being slapped onto the back, and the matte finish has a nice subtle texture to it. I’ve been using it ever since I received it several weeks ago – the vibrant colors are just perfect for summer :-) Thank you, caseable!
PS. If you’re not into making your own design, you can also peruse their collection of stylish iPhone cases.
As some of you might know, I’m a complete sucker for housewares with a playful twist. Just because something is useful doesn’t mean it has to be boring, right? So you can imagine just how excited I was when the folks over at FunSlurp generously sent over some fab goodies for me to test out!
I used these hand tossed salad servers when some friends came over for dinner on Sunday, and they couldn’t help but laugh when the table was set :-) The whimsical servers are made out of beech wood, so they feel nice and durable, and the wide hands make it easy to scoop up big piles of leafy deliciousness. All in all, I’m super happy with this new find – after all, who wouldn’t be delighted with an extra pair of hands in the kitchen??
I also received this quirky Scoops ice cream door stop, which is perfect for an ice cream lover like me! We often have BBQs in the summer, and it’s always a pain in the butt to open the door when I’m running in and out and juggling a zillion things. This sweet rubber doorstop is the answer to our prayers – it’s sturdy enough to stand up to our heavy doors, and ice cream puts everyone in a partying mood (even Toby, apprently)!
