We’re finally getting around to updating some of the furniture around our house, which means I’ll be bidding adieu to my trusty Malm dresser and nightstand that have been with me since I moved into my very first apartment here in NYC 10 years ago. Say what you want about IKEA, but some of that cheapo stuff really LASTS! I only wish I had seen these pieces as blank slates to build upon and really made them my own. I mean, just take a look at these incredible makeovers to see what happens when creativity and elbow grease meets plain old IKEA furniture – (expensive looking) magic!
Playing around with gold foil seems a bit messy and complicated so I’ve always bypassed it when perusing the craft store, but these DIY projects have me doing a 180° – the gold sheen is so pretty, and I love the crackled textured look of the foil!
Adding a statement piece to your house doesn’t always require a trip to the mall, sometimes it just takes a bit of elbow grease! These gorgeous DIY projects will take your home to the next level and make it look like a gazillion bucks – I mean, how stunning is that moon mural?? I would love to have one painted in our bedroom for goodnight wishes!

Well we can’t all be Martha Stewart, right? If you’re anything like me when it comes to crafts, you’ll want to check out these charming DIY ideas that are a cinch to make with just a few materials!
Ok so your furry friends might not be able to make these DIYs themselves (let’s face it, it’s hard to work a glue gun without thumbs), but I’m sure you would get lots of appreciative licks if you helped out a wee bit! That studded collar might be just what Toby needs to win the heart of the cute Basset Hound down the street.
I’ve always thought generic plastic animals were at the bottom of the fun toy food chain. How do kids play with them without falling asleep out of sheer boredom? And yet, I was completely enamored when I started seeing these quirky figurines pop up around the web – a few simple twists was all it took to transform them from duds into nostalgic treasures! I may have to dig through my parents’ basement for all the plastic critters I shunned during my childhood and make amends.
